Storm2 v KPM in the Anderson Cup
The final score wasn't a fair reflection of the game - the fact that it went to overtime was!
From a Storm2 perspective...
A slow offensive start for the first few possesions coupled with not enough focus on the defensive end let KPM take a 4 point lead by the end of the 1st quarter. The second quarter was going Storm's way and they'd pulled KPM back until the last minute when KPM made a mini 7 point run to finish the half 5 points up.
In the 3rd quarter Storm's defence improved , they ebounded the ball well and this led to some effective transition offence which, coupled with good inside scoring, saw Storm going into the 4th with the momentum and only one point down. KPM managed to take an early lead in the 4th - up by as much as 7 - but Storm clawed it's way back. Good full court pressure defence in the last couple of minutes forced turnovers without fouling and when Storm went to the line down 2 with 10 seconds left... two made free throws later the game went to overtime.
KPM only had 6 players to start the game, but had three players foul out in the 4th. The 2nd and 3rd players to foul out left the game in the final minute of the 4th, so the game went to overtime with Storm playing 5 on 3.
Storm's players played smart and did all the right things in overtime to take advantage of the situation and win the game.
