Match Report
The opening game of the season and Storm got off to an okay start, scoring points and working hard in defence. But towards the end of the 1st quarter Storm fell behind due to too many turnovers, slack passes, rushed offences and
By the start of the 2nd Storm were falling behind quickly and found themselves 15 points down. But a rousing end to the 2nd quarter saw Storm close the score down to 1 point (EOH Score 35-36).
The start of the 3rd continued the same with Storm scoring and breaking well, earning them an 8 point lead, but miscommunication in defence lead to J.Bunyan of Fury scoring four 3 pointers in a row, pulling them back in front (EOQ Score 57-60).
In the forth quarter both teams traded baskets, with Storm missing some easy baskets and miss-placed passes.. Then with Storm down they picked up the first of two technical fouls. Fury scored both free throws from the first, then with Storm trying to foul to stop the clock another technical was handed out for an off the ball incident, Fury scored all four shots. Storm tried to rally at the end but couldn’t hit any of the shots that they had earlier made. Storm tried to stop the clock by putting the Fury players on the line but Fury held their nerve hitting their last 8 points from the line.
