Match Report

Storm started the brighter of the two teams getting easy baskets and playing good defence, but a lapse in concentration and bad shot selection lead to Storm going behind at the end of the quarter by 5.

Storm looked nervous and sluggish in the 2nd quarter and steadily fell behind further, with their offences looking out of sync Storm only managed a couple of baskets in a 7-8min period.  This meant that Storm were down by 14 points at the half.

After a stiff talking to at half-time, Storm came out the blocks flying; they immediately cut the deficit to only 6 points, but miscommunication in defence lead to Saints getting 4 easy baskets from over the top full court passes, and Storm’s hard work was wiped away. Storm were still down in double figures at the end of the 3rd.

In the final quarter the teams traded baskets, every time the lead was cut close, Saints got easy baskets and pulled it back. In the end Storm were trying to stop the clock, but Saints held their nerve to sink the free throws and win the game by 12 points.
