Match Report
Storm travelled to Troon for the first meeting of the season between the two teams. 1st quarter was quite a close affair with both teams trading baskets although Troon finished the quarter the stronger. EOQ score 16-14.
Troon started the 2nd quarter the way they finished the 1st and a combination of good hustle on defence and sloppy play on Storm’s part saw Troon go on an 11-2 scoring run. Storm tried to rally with a couple of baskets but Troon stepped up again and finished the quarter strong. EOH score 48-28.
3rd quarter was similar to the 2nd in that Troon out-hustled Storm leading to lots of breakaway unopposed points. EOQ score 68-42.
4th quarter saw Troon run their bench. Storm failed to capitalise on this and a lot of poor shot selections saw Storm lose this quarter too. EOG score 90-56.
Summary – Good team performance from Troon in particular Donnelly and Pearson (22pts each). Storm must up their shooting percentage if they hope to compete with teams as 14 points a quarter will not be good enough.
