Match Report
Dispite being up 6 in the first quarter due to Mandy Ambler's sharp shooting early on, and a solid effort from storms starting players, Uni kept rebounding the ball well and found their spots on the floor that gave them high percentage looks and kept it close
In the second quarter, Storms bench gave us a lot of good energy and looked to keep the lead around 5 or 6, however lack of boxing out and good transition offense by Uni, the score going into half time read 25-28
The third quarter saw Storm come out with more defensive intent and Rosie Barr teamed up with June Potts throughout the whole 2nd half to provide most of Storms points, but Uni really turned up the tempo and got around 14 fast break points in the second half!
Storm played great full court defence in the 4th quarter to bring the score back to within 6, but credit to Uni for sticking with their running game and scoring layups deep into the 4th Qr
Great effort and much progress showed by Storm tonight, good energy from the bench and solid performances from the starters made for an exciting game, however lack of boxing out and a few passes going a-stray meant the game was just out of reach!
Top scorers for Storm were June potts with 14, Rosie Barr with 13, and Mandy Ambler with 12.
Top scorers for Uni were Debbie Primrose with 16 points and Roni Sisson with 15
